Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt! John Muir
I don't know about you, but I've always found outback Australia to be one of my favourite places to visit. There's something about seeing the dirt change from black on the coast, to brown, then orange and finally a brilliant red that tells me I'm off on an exciting adventure! If you've never been to Lightning Ridge before, I highly recommend it as a destination. Well-known for it's brilliant opals (It's the Black Opal Capital of the World!), there's also the therapeutic hot mineral spring baths where, if you get there before dawn, you'll get to trade stories with the locals. The township is one of the most unique that I've ever visited - I just loved driving around looking at all of the imaginative ways that people built their homes. There were so many beautiful old rusty trucks taking pride of place in people's front yards as well, so you can imagine that with my love of photographing the outback, red dirt, and anything old and rusty, I was in absolute heaven!
I hope you enjoy the shots and would love you to leave a comment ☺.
